Dr Sam Durrant runs a network of weekly reading groups for local refugees and asylum seekers Reading Groups. The groups draw on the empathic dynamics of group reading in order to foster a sense of community, build self-confidence and improve language skills. Groups are currently running in Harehills, Little London, and Leeds City Centre and partially funded by the Wellcome Trust.
